Back in Fairbanks, I spent the day wandering around Creamer’s Field, a migratory bird refuge. I could hear whooping cranes somewhere nearby, but never saw anything other than some Canada Geese.
A nearby pond had some Trumpeter Swans in it, though.
I flew to Juneau, got onto the ferry, and sailed home (or, at least, to Bellingham.)
The ferry was fun, and I was very glad I had a small room of my own. We were in fog most of the way home.
I got to Bellingham, took the shuttle to Seattle, and Rachel drove me home. Now, it’s recovery time, and then time to start planning my next trip.
