Monday morning we were picked up and driven to Sepilok – a 4 hour uneventful (though occasionally bumpy) drive. We arrived at the Sepilok Forest Lodge – a very spacious, well-designed lodge. We had a two floor bungalow overlooking a pond with colorful birds outside the window. Definitely a step up from the Sipidan Inn 2.
As we walked from the reception area to the room, we saw it first orangutan up in the trees — with a baby! The guy at reception said that was a wild one, not one from the sanctuary. Although, clearly, pretty accustom to people.
