Last day. First snorkel at Staghorn point was amazing – several schools of Bumpheads swam by. Then, a shark wandered in front of the divers. We went a little further and saw a school of Jackfish. More fish, a small shark (Baby shark do do de do do), and suddenly my guide pointed down and said “Octopus!”. I took a picture, but didn’t see it.

But I finally saw an arm come out slowly. It was tip-toeing along the bottom of the ocean.

Second snorkel was uneventful – a few turtles, a small white tip shark sleeping on the sand, little of colorful fish going about their business. We got into the boat and headed to pick up the divers. They came up whooping loudly. Evidently, just as they were doing their safely stop, a manta ray had glided by. (Rare event.)
That was very typical – what you see was partially being in the right place, and partially luck.
More of what we saw

At the end of the last day of diving/snorkeling, the company took us back to Semporna and we stayed overnight there.
