We woke up to a heavy, wet, mist around the camp, which occasionally turned to light rain. Very unexpected! And a reminder to always pack for all weather. (I had left my rain pants at home, and had debated bringing my down coat, which I used every day in camp. )

We quickly packed up and headed down.

As we got lower, the weather got better We had debated maybe hiking all the way out (8 miles, rather than 5 + 3), but decided to spend one more day in the wilderness. We camped in a site next to the Sol Duc river. Robbie and Ryan went swimming, as usual (Brrr!)

Next day, we had a short hike out. We stopped by the Sol Duc Hot Springs, had lunch, and then headed home.
