The trailhead was two miles from Sol Duc Hot Springs resort, so we stayed there the night before. Our first day was a hike up to Deer lake.
Deer lake was surrounded by trees. Rob and Ryan (who got there before anyone else) found a secluded campsite next to a smaller lake.
