This might have been a good idea, if we hadn’t just spent five days in the Pantanal. We didn’t realize until the day before, but this was a 2 1/2 hour drive to the site, and the tour started at 8 AM.
Still, we went. The place we were staying helpfully put together a packed breakfast and coffee in a thermos.
The first part of the tour was driving in a van around a wide open area, then back to the main farm area where there were more birds.
Then we got on a boat (on another very low river) and sailed around what was basically a lake.
People fished for piranhas, then the guide fed them to the caiman.
