O’Reilly’s Rainforest Lodge – continued

Today we mostly hung around the lodge and participated in some of their activities.

We joined the bird watch/feeding again.

At 10 AM there was a Wildlife Encounters program – we saw a Sulfur-crested Cockatoo, Squirrel Gliders, Hopping Mice, and a Carpet Python.

After lunch we got to see the Birds of Prey show.

We walked the canopy walk (me, again; Sheila for the first time – still terrifying) and walked through the botanical gardens.

This Bush-stone Curlew hung out near the rooms. His expression reminded me of Sam the Eagle.
If you have seen the Bower Bird documentary with David Attenborough, it was partially filmed here.

In the dining area there was a outside viewing area with food that birds came to during the day. At night – they got a possum.

Then I got packed and ready for my long walk on the Border Track to Binna Burra lodge the next day.
